Sustainment Systems Engineer and Modeler
NOTE: This is not a remote/telework job. This job requires the selected applicant to have an active U.S. Government-issued security clearance at time of hire and, therefore, requires U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for a wide range of technical and acquisition tasks, including but not limited to:
- Ensure adherence to all applicable Air Force policies and apply formal Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, and MBSE processes.
- Implement MBSE processes and advise on architecture, tools, and methodologies across various infrastructures.
- Develop and maintain integrated system models using industry-standard MBSE tools and methodologies including the creation of authoritative sources of truth and digital twins.
- Work with cross-functional teams to translate operational needs into comprehensive system models, ensuring design integrity and traceability.
- Review testing procedures and plans for requirements traceability and develop and execute system verification and validation plans based on MBSE models.
- Ensure compliance with entry and exit criteria within the MBSE model for technical reviews, provide pass/fail recommendations for design reviews, and conduct functional configuration audits.
- Participate in technical reviews and audits to ensure compliance with MBSE principles and standards, and review contractor's Monthly Status Reports (MSRs) for anomalies.
- Perform technical evaluations of MBSE models and proposed schedules.
- Perform other routine systems engineering tasks as required.
- Proven experience in Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Have strong understanding of MBSE processes, architectures, tools (like Cameo Systems Modeler), and methodologies.
- Experience in developing and maintaining integrated system models.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with requirements traceability, verification, and validation.
- Familiarity with technical reviews and audits.
- Ability to perform technical evaluations of models and proposed schedules
- Bachelor’s or master's degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must have a fully adjudicated (not an interim) U.S. Government security clearance at the time of hire.
