We are seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to join the team supporting the Air Force Technical Applications Center at Patrick Space Force Base in Melbourne, Florida.

NOTE: This is not a remote/telework job.

Kegman is seeking a skilled Cloud Systems Administrator to support our government customer on Florida’s Space Coast. As a Cloud Systems Administrator, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and deploying secure, scalable, and reliable solutions across an AWS-based infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include managing sensitive data and mission-critical models, automating processes, and optimizing performance and cost efficiency. You will collaborate with diverse teams including data scientists, software engineers, and IT professionals, to ensure seamless integration, streamline deployments, and abstract away server management and environment configuration.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in-person technical support and manage incidents and problems for end-users, addressing technology issues related to computer operations, networks, software, and system administration. This includes troubleshooting and resolving cloud-specific issues such as login, authentication, and authorization errors, as well as analyzing and testing new hardware and software configurations to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provision and manage cloud resources including servers, storage, and network components.
  • AWS Architecture & Deployment: Design and implement cloud solutions using AWS services like Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, and CloudFormation, ensuring secure and efficient operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams, analyze cloud usage and costs to identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Provide technical expertise to the assigned project team.
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud-hosted applications (Keycloak, Git, Harbor, Jira, SIEM Tool’s on AWS)
  • Prepare technical documentation including standard procedures, system/architectural design, reports, research and cost analysis
  • Assist the technical lead with projects from implementation through testing and production
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with users at all skill levels and document unique issues and solutions in a support knowledgebase or procedure/policy documents
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
 
Basic Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience with cloud computing technology, server configuration, network administration, Kubernetes/container orchestration.
  • Must have experience with scripting in Shell, Bash, and yaml
  • Must have experience deploying applications and resources on AWS GovCloud
  • Must have CompTIA Security + (CE) certification
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies (Docker, containerd) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Helm)
  • A self-starter with excellent oral and effective written communication skills, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and an experienced decision-maker
  • Experience w Linux, installing software, patches, and updates on Servers
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principles
  • Experience troubleshooting complex network and systems infrastructure issues
  • Hands-on experience with deployment and/or support of client systems
  • Phone and people skills which promote end-user satisfaction
  • Experience with Active Directory and Windows Servers
  • Agile development experience along with related technologies (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Demonstrable comprehension of key engineering concepts (e.g., load balancing, resiliency, backup, scaling, alerting).
  • Experience architecting and working in systems Government-owned secure networks (e.g., NIPR, SIPR, A-LAN, C-LAN)
  • Deep knowledge of security best practices, experience with cloud security tools, and working with role and attribute-based security models
  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
  • Experience working in a Scrum based task / team structure
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience with DoD-specific cloud platforms such as Platform One, DAF CloudWorks
  • Demonstrated experience in applying cybersecurity principles and practices within Department of Defense (DoD) environments, including familiarity with DoD security standards, policies, and compliance requirements.

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must have a fully adjudicated (not an interim) Government clearance
  • Must pass a drug test.
